Family and friends are mourning the death of a 15-year-old from Union Grove who was killed in an ATV crash Monday night.
Danny “Gage” Jackson died in an incident that happened at about 11:50 p.m. Monday on Union Chapel Road, about four miles north of Arab in Marshall County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
A student of Brindlee Mountain High School, Jackson was described by family as “one of a kind” - a young man who loved to fish, play baseball and wanted to learn bull riding.
“He loved his family and friends and lived life to the fullest,” his obituary stated. “He was a little high strung and gave his all to everything he was involved in. He was a hard worker and had an excellent work ethic. Gage was extremely bright and took on new challenges at full steam”
On social media, J.R. Rudeseal described Jackson as a “very bubbly young man” who looked out for small children and “never left the bed slept in.”
“He made it as soon as he got up and made sure everything was nice and neat,” Rudeseal wrote. “You will be missed by so many but never forgotten. Rest easy buddy, we will see you again soon.”
Bailey said the 15-year-old was critically injured when the 2015 Honda four-wheeler ATV he was operating left the roadway and struck a tree. After the initial impact, Jackson and another 15-year-old teen, who was a passenger, were thrown from the Honda. Neither were using a helmet at the time of crash.
Both teens were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Jackson died at Marshall Medical Center North, according to the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
Services will be Saturday at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with funeral services to follow.
