All About TVJS

The Tennessee Valley Jazz Society, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts agency and youth development organization. Founded in 1981, the Tennessee Valley Jazz Society (TVJS) mission is to sponsor and encourage artistic development, sporting skills and healthy living through educational and entertaining activities in the Tennessee Valley-metro Huntsville, AL area.

Since 1998, the Tennessee Valley Jazz Society (TVJS) has presented “Jazz Education-in-the-Schools” music education programs experienced by over 26,500 young people in the metro-Huntsville area. In-addition, TVJS has used the sport of golf (The First Tee) as a bridge to a variety of youth development activities.

TVJS is a jazz-presenting organization for the Alabama State Council on the Arts. It has also been a host-presenter for the National Endowment for the Arts, with its Jazz Masters on Tour initiative.


The Tennessee Valley Jazz Society’s 30th year of community service and 25th Annual Jazz-N-June Festival will take place in the Huntsville-Tennessee Valley area June 19-26, 2011 with a variety of activities and artists’ performing some of the Southeast’s best jazz.
