The owners of Melt have transformed a building at Birmingham’s Pepper Place into The Sage, a 5,000-square-foot event space.
The Sage can accommodate up to 112 seated guests and 350 standing, with additional room in the courtyard for larger events, according to the owners.
It features high ceilings with ample natural light, and garage doors opening onto a courtyard, which can be tented for bigger events. It has exposed brick walls, reclaimed lumber, and an expansive outdoor patio.
The building offers a spacious chef’s kitchen and walk-in cooler for caterer use, ample storage space, four ADA-compliant bathrooms, a large built-in bar, and handicapped accessible facilities. Tables and chairs are available for rent.
Paget Pizitz and Harriet Reis, the co-owners, said they wanted to create a venue that “provides the perfect setting for any celebration, from weddings to corporate luncheons.”
“Pepper Place and the Lakeview District have a magnetic energy that invites all of Birmingham to come and connect,” Tom Walker, president of Village Creek Development, said.” “The Sage is the perfect complement to this as it provides the community with a beautiful, dedicated space to celebrate life’s milestones and everything in between.”
