SEC officially announces date for Alabama football at Oklahoma in 2024

Alabama football’s 2024 matchup with Oklahoma has an official date. The Crimson Tide will visit Norman on Nov. 23 to become one of the Sooners’ first SEC opponents after moving from the Big 12 alongside Texas.

The news was officially released during halftime of Monday Night Football, along with an Oct. 19 Texas vs. Georgia matchup. The game’s date, along with other key points of the 2024 SEC schedule were previously reported by ESPN, which will take over the league’s full television rights next season.

The league also announced two Oct. 12 games, with Tennessee playing Florida in Knoxville, while Ole Miss visits LSU.

The SEC’s full 2024 schedule will be released Wednesday evening on ESPN. The league’s schools will play an eight-game conference schedule, at least for one more season, after being unable to decide on a long-term scheduling model with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma at spring meetings.

Alabama opens its 2024 campaign at Bryant-Denny Stadium, against Western Kentucky. The Crimson Tide stays home again the next week against South Florida, and will be looking to win more convincingly than it did in Week 3 of this season.

On Sept. 14, Alabama hits the road to Big Ten country. The Tide will play Wisconsin at Camp Randall before starting its SEC schedule.

According to ESPN’s Chris Low, the Tide will then face Georgia at home on Sept. 28 after an idle week, then travel to Tennessee on Oct. 19, then LSU on Nov. 9. On Nov. 16, Mercer comes to town, before the Oklahoma game and a Nov. 30 Iron Bowl against Auburn in Tuscaloosa.

Dates have not yet been announced for Alabama’s games against Missouri and South Carolina at Bryant-Denny Stadium, along with a road trip to Vanderbilt.

In the meantime, Alabama’s 2023 season continues on Jan. 1. The Crimson Tide will face Michigan in the College Football Playoff’s Rose Bowl semifinal that day.
