Mobile is demolishing the civic center. Here’s what you need to know.

Earlier this week, Mobile’s Architectural Review Board signed off on a plan to demolish the Mobile Civic Center’s three existing buildings: the arena, theater, and expo hall. In its place, the city will construct a new arena that will host top touring musical acts, Mardi Gras balls and other entertainment.

As Mobile moves forward with their plan to demolish the 60-year-old civic center and replace it with a new arena, here’s what you need to know.
