Man found dead on Mobile roadway after report of pedestrian struck by a car

A man was found dead on a road in Theodore early Friday morning after police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car, Mobile police say.

According to a release, police responded at 5:22 a.m. to the westbound side of Highway 90, also known as Government Boulevard, in between East Rite Road and the Highway 90 East Service Road in Theodore.

The response was in reference to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, police discovered a male victim dead in the roadway.

The name of the victim has not been released, Mobile police say, as their next of kin has not been notified.

Police are actively investigating.
