The traffic accident that killed Minnesota Vikings cornerback Khyree Jackson and two of his former high school teammates on Saturday remains under investigation, the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office indicated on Monday.
While no charges have been filed, Denise Douglas, a spokeswoman for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that prosecutors “are definitely moving quickly and expeditiously” and have scheduled “an early evidentiary review” for this week.
“We only have initial reports, which do not include the (blood alcohol content) which has to be developed from the medical records in this case,” the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office said in a release to WTOP-TV in Washington. “We have not yet received those yet. There is a need for more information about what exactly happened to collect sufficient evidence.”

According to the Maryland State Police report on the accident, Jackson was a passenger in a Dodge Charger that was involved in a three-vehicle wreck in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. State Troopers responded to the accident at 3:14 a.m. EDT Saturday.
The Maryland State Police’s preliminary investigation indicated an Infiniti Q50 driven by Cori Imani Clingman struck the Charger and a Chevrolet Impala while attempting a lane change at a high rate of speed. The Charger left the road and hit several tree stumps, the police report said.
While the occupants of the other two vehicles were uninjured, the three occupants of the Charger, including driver Isaiah Hazel, and passenger Anthony Lytton Jr., were killed. Lytton and Hazel were teammates of Jackson’s at Dr. Henry Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro.
Investigators indicated alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Jackson joined the Vikings in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on April 27 from Oregon, where the cornerback played in 2023 after spending the previous two seasons at Alabama.
Jackson was scheduled to report to his first NFL training camp on July 21 with the rest of Minnesota’s rookies.
