Parts of Alabama were enjoying slightly lower humidity levels over the past few days, but it won’t last.
The National Weather Service expects humidity to return in full force over the weekend, as well as the possibility of more heat advisories.
Heat advisories are issued when the combination of heat and humidity is so oppressive that it could prove dangerous to those who don’t take precautions.
That wonderful combination is set to return by Sunday and last into next week, according to forecasters.
It will be very warm today and tomorrow, but some spots won’t have quite as high humidity levels, according to forecasters.
No part of the state was under a heat advisory on Thursday, but temperatures will range from the upper 80s in parts of northeast Alabama to the mid-90s in south Alabama (today’s forecast is at the top of this post).
Friday will see temperatures rise a little, with more mid-90s expected across the state:
Look for the heat to build over the weekend.
Saturday could bring a 100-degree high temperature or two to Alabama cities:
The heat index could climb above 105 for areas in north and central Alabama as soon as Sunday, and south Alabama could see it climb as high as 110, according to the weather service.
Here are the forecast high temperatures for Sunday:
Look for sky-high temperatures and high humidity levels to stick around through at least mid-week next week, according to weather service forecasts.
More heat advisories look likely for parts of the state next week.
