Beth Ann Robinson, a 14-year-old dancer from Dothan with Birmingham ties, was named to the semifinals of “America’s Got Talent” tonight.

Robinson, the daughter of Dr. Chris Robinson, who graduated from Vestavia High School, and Lisa Knight Robinson, a graduate of Homewood High School, auditioned for the show via You Tube. Twelve You Tube finalists competed live Tuesday night and four of the acts made it through to the semifinals to compete against the 12 other finalists on the show.

Another of the 12 You Tube finalists was Lincoln’s Breeana Bell, an 8-year-old dancer and contortionist. She did not move on.

The top prize on the show is $1 million and a headlining show in Las Vegas.

Last year’s runner-up, young opera sensation Jackie Evancho, auditioned via You Tube.
