Mobile’s Architectural Review Board signed off on a plan to demolish the Mobile Civic Center Wednesday, paving the way for a new arena to be constructed on the site.
“This is a critical point that we needed to get this approved, so that we could proceed with our continued design and continued study of the new civic center, new arena,” James Barber, chief of staff for the city of Mobile, said after the meeting.
