Jaycob Curlee went into Wednesday night's broadcast of "America's Got Talent" as one of 12 contenders with a shot at making the show's finals.
Unfortunately for the 18-year-old singer from Daphne, he was not one of the six acts chosen to proceed.
Voters were not quite as kind to vocalists as they had been the previous week, when three of four singers moved forward. On Wednesday, 12-year-old Quintavious Johnson was the only singer to advance, as Curlee, Jonah Smith and Kelli Glover all failed to inspire sufficient voters.
Cello-playing brothers Emil & Dariel won, as did magician Mat Franco, acrobatics team AcroArmy and innovative dance duo Blue Journey, who got a "Snapple Save" from voters during the broadcast. The final pick of the night came down to magician Smoothini vs. hand balancer Christian Stoinev. The judges gave Stoinev some more grief for the quality of his performance on Tuesday, but ultimately decided to give him another chance.
The show doesn't give eliminated acts a chance to express their thoughts, but Curlee took to Twitter after the broadcast to express his appreciation to his supporters.
The night's six winners advance to finals, joining six other acts chosen last week: singers Mara Justine, Emily West and Miguel Dakota; musical group Sons of Serendip; and magicians Mike Super and David & Leeman.
