Billy Ray Cyrus took to social media this week to speak on the leak of a private conversation between him and his estranged wife Firerose.

Cyrus, 62, on Wednesday, he responded to an audio in which he was heard berating and belittling singer-songwriter Firerose.

The two are in the process of divorcing after seven months of marriage.

“Hell yeah I was at my wit’s end,” he posted on Instagram. “As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud.

“I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges’ ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents’ last name.”

Cyrus claimed Firerose, 37, “was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own gain.”

In a leaked audio, Cyrus is heard arguing with Firerose about being late for an event.

“It’s 9:15 you idiot. I needed to leave two hours ago,” Cyrus said, per PEOPLE.

“No, you didn’t. You can still leave and get there in time,” Firerose replied.

Cyrus can also be heard calling Firerose a “(expletive) selfish (expletive)” while she asked him to “please stop screaming at me.”

Last month, Cyrus filed an emergency temporary restraining order from Firerose. The move came weeks after Cyrus, 62, had filed for divorce from his 37-year-old wife, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges. Meanwhile, she accused him of “extreme” abuse.
