One of Costco’s most popular breads may be on the way out.

Costco is allegedly planning to discontinue its Kirkland Signature Country French Bread, according to Eat This, Not That.

According to Eat This, Not That, a customer said they heard the news straight from an employee and shared the news on Reddit.

“I was in my local Costco in Illinois and I was asking for a freshly-made loaf. I told the employee how much I loved it, and she told me they are not going to be carrying it anymore!! I’m so sad!” the customer wrote.

Costco has yet to verify the change.

What other changes are coming to Costco?

In June, Costco announced it will increase membership rates by $5 starting Sept. 1. The change means the base membership cost will go from $60 a year to $65. An “Executive Membership,” will go from $120 a year to $130.

Costco will also stop selling books for most of the year.

Instead of being a regular offering, books will only be stocked or their holiday shopping period from September to December and as part of special promotions. The change, which is expected to take place in January 2025, was confirmed to the New York Times by several publishing industry executives who cited the increased labor of stocking books, which must often be done by hand.
