The body of an Alabama woman was discovered Sunday in a ditch at a vacant home in Mississippi, authorities said.
Monroe County, Mississippi Coroner Alan Gurley identified the victim as Sherry Pope, 45. She was from Vernon, in Lamar County.
Her brother discovered her body Sunday in Splunge, Mississippi, WTVA reported.
Pope was at the vacant house Saturday with a friend to help clean the yard.
Her death is considered to be suspicious, and her body if being sent to Biloxi, Mississippi for an autopsy.
No arrests have been made in the case, Sheriff Kevin Crook told WCBI.
