Another day, another four-star commitment for Alabama football. After tight end Kaleb Edwards committed on Tuesday, the Crimson Tide scored another recruiting win on Wednesday, when linebacker Justin Hill announced his pledge to UA.
Hill is ranked as the No. 4 edge nationally in the class of 2025 according to the 247Sports composite ratings. He likely factors into Kane Wommack’s defensive scheme as a “Wolf” linebacker in Tuscaloosa.
“Gained ample reps in a two-point wide-9 alignment that revealed encouraging dip-and-bend flexibility and arc-running juice,” 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote in his assessment of Hill. “Also flashed an occasional heavy inside hand to get larger blockers on their heels. Excels in chase-down situations thanks to closing speed. For the same reason, capable of hustling his way back into plays. Tackles can get their hands on him but have a difficult time achieving prolonged engagement.”
Hill chose the Crimson Tide over Ohio State, Oregon and Southern Cal. He took a moment to pick up and peek at every hat on the table before putting the Crimson Tide’s on his head, during a ceremony livestreamed on his social media.
The 247 composite ranks him as the No. 60 player overall.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Hill plays his high school football at Winton Woods in Cincinnati. He became Alabama’s 22nd commitment in the class of 2025, Kalen DeBoer’s first cycle as the Crimson Tide’s head coach after taking over for the retired Nick Saban.
He became the Tide’s first edge commitment in the class. Alabama has four other linebacker commitments in the group, including Darrell “Duke” Johnson, Dawson Merritt, Jaedon Harmon and Abduall Sanders Jr.
Alabama’s class is currently listed as the No. 2 group in the nation on the 247 composite, behind just Ohio State.
