Alabama football scored a huge recruiting win on Saturday. Wide receiver Caleb Cunningham announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide, choosing Kalen DeBoer’s team over Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss, among other offers.
Cunningham announced the news on social media, in conjunction with Hayes Fawcett of On3. He’s a five-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
The 247 composite ranks Cunningham as the No. 2 receiver in the 2025 class, No. 13 among all recruits. He plays his high school football at Choctaw County in Mississippi.
“Translates body control and bounce to ball-winning mismatch effectiveness at wideout,” 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote in his assessment of Cunningham. “Unstoppable in red-zone situations. Strong-handed in traffic. Runs hard in run-after-catch situations and bowls his way through arm tackles. Long-striding gait that creates necessity for build-up speed. Natural route sense and spatial awareness.”
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Cunningham became Alabama’s 21st commitment in the 2025 class. He’s the fourth 247 composite five-star in DeBoer’s first full group, joining quarterback Keelon Russell, cornerback Dijon Lee and linebacker Darrell “Duke” Johnson.
Alabama’s group is ranked No. 2 overall overall for the 2025 class on the 247 composite. Only Ohio State is listed higher.
Cunningham became the second wide receiver in the Crimson Tide’s 2025 class. He joined three-star prospect Lotzeir Brooks.
